The Event
Sierra Leone went to Hollywood! Continuing with the theme of elegance, class and glam, the 5th Annual GWB Ball was held at The Historical Howard Theatre in Washington DC. This night of cultured elegance, hosted by African media mogul Farai Gundan featured upbeat sounds provided by DJ Lebbie and DJ No Name as well as live performances by international artist Janka Nabay and the Bubu Gang. Alongside The GWB Commission’s parent company Abstracts Events, partners included: Face2Face Africa, Applause Africa Magazine, Prince Zamira Photography, Runaworks Studios, Bella Naija, Restycle, African Lime Light, and Miss Dunnie O. Partial proceeds from the 5th Annual GWB Ball benefit the Throne Room Orphanage and Educational Center, a Fairfax, Virginia based non-profit organization that assists youth who were orphaned during Sierra Leone’s 11-year civil war.
